ABCs

Zach is learning to recognize and sometimes write letters of the alphabet and this is what I find all over my house...

The shopping list...

The next page of the shopping list just in case I rip the first off, right?...
This is on the tub with bath crayons. It's a little hard to see, but it's an "A" and an "H"...

And these are using rocket balloons, very creative, huh?

The clouds parted

Last night, I looked out my back door and this is what I saw...

Beautiful! There was a very sudden thunderstorm last night which only lasted 10 or 15 minutes and then the clouds parted in the west before sunset, so the light was still bright and clear and this is what appeared. Look carefully, there are 2 rainbows and they were full bows, stretching from ground to ground. Awesome! What a beautiful sign of God's love. (I wasn't the only one in my backyard getting pictures, either)

Five Fabuous Years

Yesterday, Jake and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. We spent the day together as a family and had a blast at the park, at home, and at the zoo. Then Jake and I went out together to dinner. It was a wonderful day and so fun to reminisce about the past 5 years, and all the changes we've been through: 2 houses, 2 kids, different jobs. And think about what the next 5 years (or 50) might bring.

I love you, Jake. Thank you for the past 5+ years and thank you for the fun anniversary! I love you more all the time.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon for the first of many times this summer. Zach loved it! He keeps asking everyone if they want to go to Lagoon with him. He is very funny with new experiences like this. He obviously enjoys it because he is always asking to do it again or running up to a new ride. But he's very serious during the rides and seeing new things. It's hard to tell he's having a good time, but I think he just really takes it all in. The same thing happens when we go to storytime at the library. He's used to storytime, but there's always a new storyteller and different kids and new books and songs, etc. So he's quiet and serious during it, but then talks a ton about it later and sings the songs the best he can remember them and always wants to go back. So, it's just his personality. He LOVED Lagoon! We'll be going as often as we can this summer. Can't wait!

The boat airplanes

Puff the Magic Dragon, which may have been his favorite.

Cade enjoys playing with Dad anytime, anywhere.

The boats, which looks so boring, but the kids like them anyway. Zach said he was going fishing.

The fam on the train. The good old train at Lagoon where you may see an animal or 2... I guess the ostriches are pretty interesting. If you do catch the Tigers (they are inside a lot), they tend to growl at the passing train. I don't think they like it. Poor things.

Cade: "Give me the camera case and I'm a happy dude. Actually, I'm a pretty happy dude anyway..."
