Walrus? (and other randomness)

Cade does a cute belly crawl that sort of resembles a walrus. What do you think? Here he is scooting over the piano floor mat, which is quite fun, by the way. Anyone for BIG?

Cade got stuck under the bucket and when I peeked under this is what I found.

Zach is a very good photographer. This camera is one we bought at the zoo which doesn't take photos, but he doesn't care. He still clicks away at everything he likes.

My boys (2 picts above) at the Living Planet Aquarium

Hogle Zoo (one of our favorites). We had a membership there the past year and so Zach became very familiar with it, but certainly not tired of it. Maybe we'll do it again next year.

Zoo? Animals? What? All I can see is this pile of rocks which needs to be conquered. King Zach and Queen Ashley of the Mountain (and cute Sophie who just found a great place to stop and rest)

This is the only good picture I got of anyone on the carousel. Danielle and her cute Asher! Thank you Aunt Katie for the ride!!

Zach's 3!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZACH!

Zach turned 3 on May 3, 2009. We had a party on May 1 at the Dimple Dell Rec Center Pool. Thank you to everyone who helped and celebrated with us.

The invitation:

The Birthday Boy

Swimming (I didn't really get a lot of pictures, so I'm missing most of the people who were there, sorry, but THANK YOU KATIE for helping get more and better pictures than me):

Danielle and Asher/ Shea and Cade. Cade actually loved swimming. He had a blast, and thanks to his thick layer of blubber, stayed warmer than the rest of the kids. :)

Make a Wish!!!

All the kids helped open the presents

Zach is very blessed to have so many people who love him and want to celebrate him. Thank you every one!

To Zach,

We love you so much! We are so proud of our big 3 year old. You are so smart and fun and funny. You have a great sense of humor. You are smarter than your parents and so, give us a run for our money. You are a great brother. Cade loves you and laughs any time you interact with him, even when you just laugh at any old time. You are rarely jealous, just happy to be having a good time no matter what. You thrive on routine and are happy to notice when something new becomes part of that routine. And all too happy to start new routines yourself.

You are growing fast and look more like a boy, less like a toddler everyday. You love music, love to sing (even make up your own songs), love to dance, love to play instruments. You have all of us thinking you are going to grow up to be a musician. You love riding your scooter and tricycle. You love taking walks, love going to the park, love collecting rolly pollies, worms, ants, whatever you can get your hands on (except spiders and bees, who can blame you?). You like to pick dandelions for me. It's very sweet. You tell me all the time that you want a cat, and yesterday told me you want a frog.

You love candy, ice cream, corn dogs, chocolate milk, apple juice, and chinese food. You dress up like "Superman" (which actually refers to both Superman and Batman) with a cape and sunglasses. You change your clothes a lot because you don't like when any of your clothes get wet. You have many "best friends". You are very affectionate, telling those you love that you love them.

We love you, Zach. Happy Birthday!!

Your mom and dad

The Cake

I wanted to make a cake for Zach's birthday and he chose a turtle cake. I looked online and found a really cute one and decided to copy it. This is something I thought I could NEVER do, but I was inspired (which is what it takes to get me to try anything creative). So, this is the cake I made for Zach's birthday. I made the fondant using an easy (although very greasy) recipe I found on the internet. Fondant isn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. If I can do it, believe me...
